FUKUSHIMA

Fukushima and its surrounding area have many hot springs consequently making it one of the largest tourist areas in Tohoku. It is easily accessible through the rail system. From Tokyo, it takes 3.5 hours by the Tohoku Express-way and it takes 1.5 hours by the Tohoku Shinkansen Line.

The area is also home to the amazing Bandai Azuma Skyline, a 29km stretch with an average height of 1350 meters above sea level. 8 famous, scenic areas exist along the Skyline which offer some of the worlds most spectacular views:

  • TENGU NO NIWA (Garden of a Long-nosed Goblin),
  • JOUDO DAIRA (Paradise),
  • TSUBAKURO DANI (Swallow Valley),
  • KUNI MI DAI (Scenic Viewing Place),
  • UMI MI TOUGE(Lake Viewing Pass),
  • JYOUDODAIRA OBSERVATORY,
  • SOURYU NO TSUJI (Crossroads of Two Dragons)
  • and SHIRAKABA NO MINE
Together, these areas are referred to as the "Azuma Hakkei"(the eight scenic spots of Azuma).

Aizu-Wakamatsu - A 600 year old castle town enfolding many places of scenic beauty and historic interest.

Nearest Station: Aizu-Wakamatsu (Ban-Etsu-Sai Line) Koriyama Station is 1 hour 20 minutes from Tokyo Station by the Tohoku Shinkansen Line. From Koriyama Station, it takes 1 hour 10 minutes to reach Aizu-wakamatsu Station on the Ban'etsu Saisen Line by Rapid Train.
